![]() Have you ever put on some relaxing music and maybe grabbed a stuffed animal to help fall asleep? Yes.... Me too, and don't feel too bad a very surprisingly high number of adults still sleep with a teddy bear and listen to some form of relaxing lullaby music for adults to sleep. According to a study commissioned by British bed company "Time4Sleep" who surveyed 1,000 people, fifty percent of the men still have their stuffed toys from childhood, and 25% still sleep with them. Incase you can’t do the math that’s 12.5% of adult men sleep with a teddy bear. Not to mention, forty percent of the men who kept their stuffed animals said it was because they couldn't “bear” to part with them. Thirty seven percent said it was because it reminded them of their childhood, which let's face it, was probably filled with much more sleep than their adulthood. And that's not even the strangest thing — ABC News found that 25 percent of men who traveled for work bring a stuffed animal with them in their suitcase. Scott Hardy, a 34-year-old businessman, says he brings his stuffed beagle named Barkley with him on trips, because his girlfriend (now wife) gave it to him. "I travel enough that it's a nice reminder of home," he told ABC News. According to some, these numbers are all surprisingly high, but the highest numbers were over 25% of people still like to fall asleep to soft, sleepy, lullaby music for adults. You would think people would be falling asleep to Enya or Yanni. However, it turns out that most people were just falling asleep to what ever they had on their iPod at a low volume. Anything from Metallica to Madonna, it didn’t matter. So, let that soak in…. probably almost 25% of your friends are listening to Metallica or snuggling up to a stuffed teddy bear from their childhood every night. I travel on the road with my band Gaelic Storm almost 200 days a year and although I do listen to music to fall asleep sometimes I have never brought a stuffed animal on the road…. Maybe I’m missing out, I’ll try it next tour.
